Wow, it’s Spring already and so much has happened! I sponsored my first stroke survivor athlete, a bowler. Stroke Survivors CAN!, as the budget grows, Stroke Survivors CAN! plans to sponsor many more athletes!
My friend, Carl, is doing interviews be be featured on my blog! If you desire to be interview, please get a hold of me at email@example.com. Please note, it may take a while.
Stroke Survivors CAN! has a web store through Zazzle, enabling to purchase of clothing and such. All purchases help to support Stroke Survivors CAN!
Personally, I have received two sponsors for my triathlons! First, Challenged Athletes Foundation, has given me a grant enabling to buy a smart trainer for cycling. Second, Chinese Medicine of Idaho has stepped forward to do acupuncture and Chinese herbs. With them, I can step closer to my true potential as a challenged athlete! They join a team of existing sponsors, Rudy Project, where I get my sunglasses and bike helmets.
I participated in the YMCA’s Spring Sprint Triathlon covering a 750 yard swim, 12 mile bike ride, and 3.1 hilly miles. I’m improving and got some good insights on my training!
And finally, I gave a speech at Idaho’s Patient Safety and Quality Improvement Conference. The title was on Reinventing Myself. I didn’t know how I’d come across being nervous, aphasiac, and all, but the audience (200+, I’d guess) gave me a standing ovation and comments were “inspiring.” I guess I did fine! I look forward to when my next speech will come!
